Assessment Information

Following an assessment plan developed cooperatively by the Academic Standards Committee of the Curriculum Council and the University Assessment Officer, the IWU faculty and staff regularly conduct surveys and evaluations of student achievement and experience. Assessment results are routinely used to improve programs and services.

Increasingly aware of the importance of assessment in improving students' experience at IWU, in Spring 2005, The Academic Standard Committee appointed an Ad Hoc Assessment Task Force of students, faculty, and staff. This group has held a number of campus conversations based on assessment survey results and plans a pilot set of in-depth student interviews in Fall 2005 to probe survey findings further.

The links to the right provide details on IWU's assessment plan and serve as gateways to selected assessment results from recent years.

For more information on the University's assessment program, contact Mona Gardner, Special Assistant to the President, at 309/556-3760 or by e-mail to Professor Gardner's responsibilities include both institutional research and administering the IWU assessment plan as University Assessment Officer.
